About this app

To help children with autism develop speech and learn to read, they are taught to type.

However, on standard keyboards, there are too many letters—they blend together into a single background, and even an adult seeing the keyboard for the first time may find it hard to locate the right symbol. If a child doesn’t yet know the names of letters, doesn’t understand speech, or, for example, has specific visual attention challenges, it becomes even harder.

Problems with standard keyboards:
1. Letters merge into a gray mass on the screen, making it impossible for the child to find them.
2. For ease of learning, we always type in uppercase, but on screen keyboards, the shift key keeps resetting, which is frustrating.
3. Other small issues: holding down the delete key erases everything at once, requiring retyping; distractions from emojis; too many unnecessary keys.

This keyboard addresses all these issues:
1. Adapted shift key that does not reset automatically.
2. Ability to enable or disable keys from the settings or while typing by holding them, highlighting only the needed letters on the keyboard.
3. Key holding is disabled for normal typing—you cannot delete everything at once or type hundreds of characters by accident.
4. Quick erase of all typed text with a left swipe.
5. In settings, educators can activate/deactivate multiple letters at once and quickly select the needed ones.
6. Works in both portrait and landscape modes.
