CrowdTransit — Find your ride. Share the knowledge.
CrowdTransit is a free, community-powered transit companion that shows you every bus, train, and ferry stop near you — who runs it, when it's coming, and where it goes. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no catch.
DISCLAIMER: CrowdTransit is an independent, community-built app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government entity or transit agency. Stop, route, and schedule information is sourced from the official public GTFS feeds that transit agencies publish via the Transitland open data platform (https://www.transit.land) — the same feeds each agency publishes for their own riders. For the authoritative, official version of any agency's schedules, visit that agency's own website.
WHY CROWDTRANSIT
Most transit apps only cover one city or one agency. CrowdTransit pulls live, continuously-updated stop and schedule data from thousands of transit agencies across the US and abroad — MTA, MBTA, CDTA, WMATA, CTA, and thousands more you've never heard of, all in one app. If your local agency publishes real transit data, there's a good chance CrowdTransit already knows about it.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
🚏 Find every stop near you
See every bus, train, subway, and ferry stop around your current location, or search any address or city in the country.
🏢 See exactly who serves each stop
Every stop shows its real transit agency by name — no more guessing which bus company actually runs the "42nd St" stop.
🕒 Real upcoming departures
Tap a stop to see its actual upcoming departures, tagged LIVE when real-time data is available, not just a static timetable.
🗺️ Explore a full route, stop by stop
Tap any route and see every single stop it makes, in order, from one end of the line to the other.
⭐ Rate and review stops
Leave a star rating and a review for any stop — is it covered? well-lit? always late? Help the next rider know what to expect.
📍 Report live conditions
Check in and flag a stop as on time, late, crowded, empty, or not running, so people already waiting there know what's really happening.
📸 Add photos
Snap a photo of a stop's signage, shelter, or platform to help others find it.
➕ Add missing stops
Found a stop that isn't listed? Add it yourself and help build out coverage for your community.
📶 Download for offline use
Save an agency's stops for offline access, so a dead zone doesn't leave you stranded.
🏆 Earn points as you contribute
Every review, photo, and check-in earns points and unlocks levels and badges — friendly competition for the most helpful local transit nerds.
FREE TO USE
