About this app

CharterVote runs secure, anonymous elections for associations, professional bodies, cooperatives, unions, alumni groups and member organisations of every size, and seals every result into a record any member can check for themselves.

Anonymous by design:
No ballot is ever linked to the person who cast it. The platform records that somebody voted, never how they voted. Anonymity is a property of how the system is built rather than a promise about how it is administered.

Results nobody can quietly change:
When voting closes, the count is sealed and published with a results hash, a configuration seal and a voter roll seal. Every elected candidate receives a Certificate of Election carrying a scannable code that leads to a public verification page, where the result is recomputed live. Members do not have to take an outcome on trust. They can check it, years afterwards if they wish.

A key held by people, not by us:
Sensitive elections can be protected by a nominating board. Each member holds a share of the election key, generated on their own device, and a threshold of them must act together before any result can be opened. CharterVote never receives a private share or the passphrase protecting it. If a board member needs to continue on another device partway through, they can move their key across without it passing through us.

For organisers:
Build ballots with offices, candidates, photographs and campaign statements. Register voters with an approval step, and add custom registration fields for membership numbers or eligibility rules. Allow write-in candidates, with moderation before they appear on a ballot. Watch the delivery of every notice, so a bounced address is visible before it costs somebody their vote. Run quick polls for non-binding questions shared by link, keep a member directory, and follow a tamper-evident audit trail of every administrative action.

For voters:
Register, receive your credentials, cast your ballot in a few taps, and verify the published result afterwards. Voting needs no account.

For organisations that answer to their members

A committee election, a board of trustees, a union ballot or a full constitutional vote. Wherever the outcome has to withstand questioning, CharterVote gives you a result you can defend and members can verify.

What’s new

Fixes across the app:

- Password reset, board invitations and other pop-up panels no longer get cut off at the bottom of the screen.
- The language list scrolls, so every language can be reached.
- English (US) added alongside English (UK).
- Election results now appear as soon as they are published.
- Removed a faint line across the welcome screen heading.
