About this app

KAYA is your climbing guide. Climbers use KAYA to discover climbs, share beta, log sends, and track progress. Download and join the most psyched community in climbing.

-Guide-
All the data, beta, and resources in one place. KAYA PRO makes outdoor climbing more accessible and convenient than ever before with verified GPS coordinates, interactive topos, and detailed climb descriptions. Official KAYA Guides are available for classic areas like Bishop, Joe’s Valley, and more — all available offline for when the service gets rough.

- Track Progress -
With thousands of gyms and climbing areas in our database, KAYA offers a superior logging experience. Videos, ascents, comments, and star ratings are all available within each climb page. If you’ve kept a logbook with another app or website in the past, you can easily upload it into KAYA through your profile page.

- Connect -
KAYA is community-focused. You’ll be notified when your buddy breaks into a new grade so you can leave ‘em a fist-bump and a comment. In-app messenger allows you to connect with other climbers, and, if your gym is on KAYA, receive new set notifications when the routesetting team finishes slinging the freshies.

- Compete -
KAYA challenges are one of the best ways to stay motivated and interact competitively with the climbing community. Go up against the world’s best or compete with your friends at your local competition.

It doesn’t stop there. We are always making changes and improvements to KAYA. Keep your updates turned on so you won’t miss a thing.

I would not use this app if there were any other option, on account if how obscenely slow it is. It often fails completely to either upload media or play it back. Edit: Some more issues: 1) When uploading videos, it sometimes randomly crops the video, rendering the video useless. 2) For comp problems graded "V?", the app requires a grade when logging a send, but only gives you VB-V5 as options. 3) If you switch to a different app & return to Kaya, it will often reset to the homepage.

Hey H Swan, I messaged you directly via KAYA; however, wanted to reach out here. Could you please contact us at support@kayaclimb.com and we can help figure out what may be happening? We tend to find that users who use gym wifi will occasionally experience slow media upload/download speeds as the gym wifi is slow at times. Thanks so much!

I love the idea of this app and like to use it to keep track of my climbs. I also really like how up to date it is, always knowing when new climbs are available at my gyms. Unfortunately, the app is hard to navigate, and the maps of the climbing areas take a while to load and find the right climbs you are looking for. I also was told beta would be available but only really if people post. Looking forward to seeing the app grow!

This app is very clunky and not something I'd use to keep track of my climbs. A couple of ideas: It would be awesome if users didn't have to re-input filters each time they look at the gym map. If I view v3-v5 climbs, the next time I open it, I would love to keep viewing it. Editing filters isn't quick. When submitting a climb, don't auto-fill suggested grade as the current grade and 'solid'. It skews the feedback and makes it hard to see what people actually think about the grade
