Cloak locks the apps you choose behind a PIN, pattern or fingerprint — and goes one step further
than other app lockers by hiding them from the recent apps screen too.
WHY THAT LAST PART MATTERS
Lock a chat app with any ordinary app locker, then open your phone's recent apps. The last thing you
were looking at is still sitting there as a preview — an open conversation, an email, a balance.
Anyone holding your phone can read it without unlocking anything. Cloak covers that preview and asks
for your PIN first.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Lock any installed app — chats, banking, photos, notes, social
• Unlock with a PIN, a pattern, or your fingerprint or face
• Hide protected apps from the recent apps switcher
• Silently photograph anyone who fails your PIN too many times
• Set how many wrong tries are allowed and how long the wait is
• Disguise Cloak's own icon as a calculator, notes, clock and more
• Stop Cloak being uninstalled without your PIN
• Lock Cloak's own settings behind a separate password
• See a log of unlocks and failed attempts, and clear it whenever you like
• Choose your accent colour, light or dark theme, and your language
PRIVACY, PROPERLY
Cloak has no account, no cloud and no analytics. Nothing you protect is uploaded, because there is
nowhere to upload it to.
• Your PIN is stored only as a salted BCrypt hash — never the PIN itself
• Settings and intruder photos live in a database encrypted with a key held in your phone's hardware
keystore
• Cloak never asks for your contacts, location, microphone, messages or files
• Uninstalling removes everything
NEVER LOCK YOURSELF OUT
Set up a security question, a one-time recovery code, or use your phone's own screen lock — any
combination — so a forgotten PIN never means reinstalling.

ABOUT THE PERMISSIONS
Android only lets an app react the moment another app opens through the Accessibility service, so
Cloak needs it. It reads one thing: which app just came to the front. It cannot read your screen,
your messages, or anything you type. The "display over other apps" permission is what lets the lock
screen appear on top. Camera access is used only if you turn on intruder photos.
