Explore a star map, find planets and the Moon, learn the constellations, and make plans for upcoming sky events. SkyFinder is an astronomy and stargazing companion for Android.

FIND YOUR WAY AROUND THE NIGHT SKY
Choose the Moon, a planet, a star or a constellation for directional guidance. SkyFinder calculates where to look using your current location, time and device sensors. Add your live camera view, adjust its visibility, or turn the camera off.

EXPLORE A SKY FULL OF DISCOVERIES
Browse a colorful 3D sky map with 5,044 catalog stars, all 88 constellations, the Sun, Moon and seven other major planets. Textured planet illustrations, star labels and constellation lines help you explore. A local horizon distinguishes objects above and below you.

SEARCH, SWIPE AND ZOOM
Search planets, named stars, constellations and HIP catalog entries. Use Touch mode to explore the map with a swipe and pinch to zoom. Turn Touch mode off to follow where your device points again. See object details, altitude, direction and a selected object's predicted sky path.

MAKE ROOM FOR MOONLIGHT
Find the Moon and see its phase, altitude and direction. Learn about Earth's natural satellite and where to look from your location.

PLAN YOUR NEXT SKY MOMENT
Browse upcoming meteor showers, Moon events, planet events, eclipses and seasonal astronomy events. Event details include observing guidance and relevant local viewing information. Save an event and set a reminder so it is easier to make time to look up. Event catalog refreshes require an internet connection.

OPTIONAL PREMIUM
SkyFinder is free with ads. An optional one-time Premium purchase removes ads. Core sky calculations and the included star catalog work on-device without an account.

GOOD TO KNOW
Camera and foreground location permissions are requested during setup. Phone-follow guidance requires compatible motion and compass sensors. SkyFinder calculates sky positions; it does not recognize objects from camera images. Alignment depends on sensor calibration, magnetic interference and location accuracy. Planet illustrations are enlarged for clarity. Weather, terrain, buildings and sky brightness affect what you can actually see.

Never look directly at the Sun or aim optical equipment at it without appropriate certified solar protection. SkyFinder is an educational observing aid, not a navigation or safety tool.
