About this game

Ddolbeng is a village of eleven plays where young children play, make things and learn.

Opening it gives you a village rather than a list. There is a market, a kitchen, a bandstand, and twenty friends wandering between them. A child presses the house they want and that play begins. It was built so that a child who cannot read yet can still tell where they are going.

WHAT IS INSIDE

· Ddolbeng Kitchen - wash, chop, stir and boil. The order of things is learned by hand, and no recipe is wrong.
· Ddolbeng Market - pick things off the shelves and put them in the box. Count them, share them out, hand them over.
· Raising Ddolbeng - feed, wash and put to bed. You find out what looking after someone is like.
· Ddolbeng Picture Stories - place friends and backgrounds to make a comic, and learn by hand that a story has an order.
· Ddolbeng Make a Friend - choose parts and colours, then give your friend a name.
· Ddolbeng Show the Way - trace the path and get there. You have to think about where you are going first.
· Ddolbeng Spot the Difference - two pictures side by side. It is practice at looking closely.
· Ddolbeng Weather Inside - pick today's mood as weather, and put a name to a feeling that is hard to say out loud.
· Ddolbeng Band - press the sounds to play, record a take, and listen back.
· Ddolbeng Two of Us - one screen split in two, sitting face to face.
· Ddolbeng Volleyball - send the ball back. Alone or with a friend.

A PLAYGROUND FOR TWO

Two of the plays were made for two people from the start. Ddolbeng Two of Us and Ddolbeng Volleyball split one screen down the middle so two can sit facing each other - brother and sister, or a grown-up and a child.

The other nine are made to be watched over a shoulder. In the kitchen you can decide together what goes in next, in the market you can count things out loud, and in Picture Stories a grown-up can read back the comic the child just made.

THERE IS NO SCREEN YOU CAN FAIL ON

No scores, no rankings, no timers. However the dish is cooked, the friend eats it happily; however long the path winds, you arrive. A child presses more when nothing tells them off for pressing, and pressing is how they learn.

No advertising. No purchases. Everything plays without an account.

ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S INFORMATION

Ddolbeng uses no advertising identifier, no analytics and no cookies. What a child makes is kept on the device and does not leave it.

Three of the plays - Ddolbeng Make a Friend, Raising Ddolbeng and Ddolbeng Picture Stories - offer an optional account link, for a grown-up who wants to carry a saved slot to another device. It is optional, and every play works fully without it. Nothing is sent to a server until a grown-up links it themselves.

There is more in the "For grown-ups" page inside the app, and in the privacy policy.

GOOD TO KNOW

This app needs an internet connection. The plays open straight from the web, so a fixed or newly added play arrives without an app update.

Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French and German are supported.
