I have ADHD, and I have started more habit apps than I can count. Every one of them worked for about a week. Then I would open the app to fifteen half-finished habits, feel bad about it, and stop opening the app at all. So I built the one I actually needed.
BetterADHDay is not a magic fix. It is a simple system that fits the way an ADHD brain tends to work, and it is honest about what it can and cannot do.
Start with one habit
You do not get to add fifteen habits on day one. You start with one. You unlock room for more only after you have kept the first one going for a while. It sounds strict, but piling on too much at once is the fastest way to quit, so the app just does not let you.
Prove it, do not just tap a checkbox
It is easy to tap "done" on something you did not do. So you can back a habit up with real proof. Take a photo and the app checks that it actually shows what it should. Check in at a place like the gym or the park. Or run a focus timer that stops if you leave the app. Sometimes the timer is the habit. Some days just starting it is the whole battle.
Rewards your brain actually notices
Every habit you keep grows a plant in a small garden that becomes yours over time. There are streaks, streak shields for the days life gets in the way, and a reward calendar you can claim from. A plain checkmark never did much for me. This one actually does.
When you miss a day
You will miss days. That is not a character flaw, it is a Tuesday. You can spend an earned shield to save a streak, or set a vacation that pauses everything while you are away. No guilt, no counters resetting to zero to punish you.
What you can track
- Anything you want. Make your own habits or pick from suggestions.
- Choose how each one is checked: a photo, a location, a timer, or just a tap.
- See honest numbers: completion rates, your longest streaks, the times of day you actually show up.
The app is in German and English.
You can try everything free for 7 days. After that it is a subscription, and you can cancel whenever you want.
If you have bounced off every other habit app, I understand. I built this because I was one of those people. Give yourself one habit to keep, and see what happens.
