Good timing has more names than almost anything else in music — tight, steady, locked in, in the pocket, in the groove. They all mean the same thing: your hits land right where the beat is. Play Tight is the timing trainer that shows you how close you get. 🎯

Set a tempo, start the metronome and play along. Every hit you make appears on a live graph just after you played it — to the left of the line if you were early, to the right if you were late. Suddenly your own habits are right there on the screen.

Tips for the best accuracy
• Put the phone's microphone just outside the edge of the table, so the sound does not reflect off the table surface.
• Hit one drumstick against the other — that is what works best, and what gives the highest precision. Other very sharp, percussive sounds usually work well too.
