About this app

eWeLink Camera App lets you look after the ones you care about from anywhere and anytime, by turning your idle Android phone into a security camera, baby monitor, pet monitor, nanny cam, and more. No need to buy a new IP camera. No mount required, just install the app, put the phone in the right position, and start watching by a few setting steps easily.

Setup Guide:

Step 1: Prepare two phones; download and install eWeLink Camera App on the Android phone (use as the camera), and download and install eWeLink App on the other phone (Viewer)
Step 2: Create an eWeLink account if you don't have one
Step 3: Log in with the same eWeLink account

Ratings and reviews

The app needs the ability to remotely turn the phones LED flash on and off so you can see in the dark. You should make the app work with the screen turned off. They is no reason to keep it on. Should have the ability to get motion and sound alerts in the main eWeLink app and be able to use them in Automations. I have removed this app. Alfred Camera is free and works much better.

This is a great app, however recent changes were made to comply with Google security requirements, so devices that have Android 7 or lower are no longer compatible. In the future I hope eWelink will give notice to consumers when changes like this are necessary.

Great app if you have a spare Android phone about, but would be better if the remote camera app always transmitted, instead ofwaiting for the viewer app to connect before it starts up the remote camera. That way, dev could add a motion detector to pop an alert when a change is detect in an area of the screen, e.g. burglar, dog on sofa, letters on doorstep etc.
