This app is literal life saving stuff. The US government and FDA have no control over the beauty industry, look it up, or watch the documentary on HBO 'Not So Pretty'. This app finds the deep listed ingredients on shopping sites we visit to get these beauty and body cleansing/skin care products and vets them for toxins. It even suggests alternatives. I've already thrown out my deodorant and make up for containing asbestos, and my skin care products for containing multiple carcinogens. Thank you

Needs improvement. Doesn't even list fragrance as a potential allergen. For this reason, I question the adequacy of how everything on the app is evaluated, given how incredibly problematic unidentified ingredients labeled as "fragrance" can be. I encourage them to be more rigorous on this aspect of the app. Until then, it's not particularly useful for me or the millions of other people who are allergic to common harmful fragrance components.

Our alerts are based on reliable chemical hazard information for labeled ingredients. "Fragrance" is a general term that doesn't disclose actual ingredients, and may - or may not - contain allergens/other unsafe chemicals. Clearya informs shoppers of this by flagging "Fragrance" as a "generic ingredient" so they may choose to avoid the product.
