Castlo is an elegant, beginner-friendly chess app that takes you from your very first move to confident play — and it works entirely offline.

Never played before? The interactive Learn mode teaches chess from zero. Each short lesson explains one idea, then puts you on a real board to try it yourself, with gentle hints and instant feedback. You will learn how every piece moves and captures, what check and checkmate mean, the value of the pieces, special moves like castling, en passant and promotion, basic tactics such as forks, pins and skewers, sensible opening principles, and how to deliver your first checkmate.

Ready to play? Challenge the built-in engine across five difficulty levels — from a relaxed beginner opponent to a genuinely tough Expert — or pass the phone back and forth for a game with a friend on a single device, sitting face to face.
