A hidden word of 4 to 8 letters, six tries, the first letter given. Nothing else.
Motrix is a word game in the spirit of Lingo and Motus: you guess a word, the game tells you what is in the right place and what is elsewhere, and you go again. No screen gets in the way, no account to create, no tutorial to sit through.
HOW IT WORKS
• Pick a length: 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 letters. That is the only choice to make.
• The first letter of the word is given to you from the start.
• A red square: the letter is in the right place. A yellow circle: it is in the word, somewhere else. A dimmed tile: it is not there.
• Six tries. If you lose, the word is revealed. Always.
• Lost? One tap starts a fresh word.
WHAT YOU WILL NOT FIND
No full-screen ad between two games. No word of the day waiting for you. No account, no leaderboard, no notification. No lives to wait for, no currency to buy, no cosmetics to unlock.
This is a game you open when you have three minutes, and it asks nothing of you.
A DICTIONARY THAT DOES NOT CHEAT
More than sixty thousand English words are accepted — everything you can reasonably type. The words to guess are drawn from the common ones only: no proper nouns, no abbreviations, no absurd forms. A real word turned down makes a game feel rigged; here it is accepted.
READABLE BY EVERYONE
Colour is never the only carrier of meaning: red is a filled square, yellow is a circle. A colour-blind player reads the grid like anyone else, with no setting to switch on. Light and dark themes, verified contrast, and every tile is announced to screen readers.
OFFLINE
The game and its dictionaries live inside the app. No connection is needed to play, no account, no data sent anywhere. Your statistics stay on your phone.
Fifteen languages, each with a full dictionary and its own keyboard layout: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Czech, Danish, Icelandic, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak and Swedish.
Motrix is free and ad-supported: one banner at the bottom of the game screen, and an optional video if you want a seventh try after a loss. Nothing else, ever.
Guess the hidden word in 6 tries. 4 to 8 letters, no interruptions.
