About this app

The ASPIRE mobile application is an invite-only digital health companion specifically designed for first-time mothers participating in the multi-site, longitudinal, observational cohort study: ASPIRE: Advancing Stillbirth Prevention through Innovative Risk Evaluation.

Funded via the Wellcome Leap InUtero programme and managed in collaboration with Medicines360, Precia, and Daiser, the ASPIRE app serves as a vital component to explore digital phenotyping. By collecting real-world contextual metrics alongside standard clinical care, the study seeks to build advanced predictive tools that can help identify signs of pregnancy complications—such as pre-eclampsia (PE), fetal growth restriction (FGR), and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)—earlier than traditional methods.

Key App Features & Functionality
• Secure & Simplified Task Management: A minimal, at-a-glance homepage dashboard that keeps your required pregnancy check-ins on track. Participants can see upcoming tasks and completion status, while raw health values remain hidden to support emotional safety and reassure you.
• Validated Patient Reported Outcomes (ePROs): Periodically batch-complete brief, clinically validated surveys tracking physical symptoms, lifestyle habits, and maternal wellbeing. Check-ins occur on several occasions during pregnancy and postpartum, taking only 10–15 minutes per batch.
• Seamless Connected Health Syncing: Secure integration with smart wearables (such as the Oura Ring) or your phone's native health environment (Apple Health / Google Fit) to log continuous physiological metrics like sleep cycles, heart rate variability, and movement without extra effort.
• Comprehensive Verified Resource Hub: Immediate in-app access to a medically vetted Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) library detailing the research protocols, data privacy safeguards, and step-by-step app support workflows.

Strict Data Privacy & Research Security

Your data is safe, private, and treated with strict protocol compliance. The ASPIRE app maps all logged data directly to a unique Participant ID (PID)—never storing patient-identifiable information on application servers. All information is encrypted, and safely stored by the clinical study team.

Disclaimer: This app is for clinical research purposes only and does not provide medical care, diagnoses, or urgent symptom interpretation. Clinical decisions remain dictated strictly by your routine doctor or midwife care team.
