MeshGames Chess is a touch-friendly chess game built around a board that fills the screen, pieces you can tell apart at arm's length, and controls you can reach with one thumb.
Play a full game against the computer with no account, no internet connection, and no advertising. Tap a piece to see exactly where it may go, tap a highlighted square to move, and take a move back whenever you want to explore a line.
COMPLETE RULES
- Castling on both sides, with the rook moved for you
- En passant capture
- Pawn promotion
- Check, checkmate and stalemate
- Draws by threefold repetition, insufficient material and the fifty-move rule
- Illegal moves are simply not offered: a pinned piece shows no move that exposes its own king
MADE FOR TOUCH
- The board takes the whole screen it can, not a square in the middle of a grey band
- Legal destinations are highlighted the moment you pick a piece
- Portrait puts a status bar above the board and the actions in a thumb-reach band below
- Landscape centres the board between two balanced rails so it never sits off to one side
- Undo and New Game are always where you left them
NEARBY TABLES
Bluetooth is used when you choose to host or join a nearby table. Older Android versions may group Bluetooth discovery under a Location permission. The game does not use that permission to display, save, or share your physical location.
TALK AND CHAT AT THE TABLE
- Optional push-to-talk table radio: hold the button to talk to the players at your table; one player speaks at a time, and nothing is recorded or saved
- Optional table chat with short text messages that stay on the nearby connection and disappear when the table closes
- Mute or block any player from the table; blocks are remembered on your device
- Report a player through the in-app report option, which opens an email draft you choose to send
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
- No account and no sign-in
- No advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs
- Settings, statistics, and your local profile stay on your device
Play at home, on flights, during travel, or whenever you want a quiet game of chess.
