Decibel Meter turns your phone into a calm, precise sound level instrument. Open it and you are measuring — one large live reading, a signature acoustic halo, and a real-time waveform. No dashboards, no clutter, no setup.

MEASURE INSTANTLY
Sound levels appear the moment you open the app. The live decibel value stays large and readable from across a room, with tabular digits that never jump as the number changes.

READ THE ROOM AT A GLANCE
Every reading is described in plain words as well as color — QUIET ROOM, NORMAL CONVERSATION, BUSY TRAFFIC, VERY LOUD ENVIRONMENT — so you always know what the number means.

THE ACOUSTIC HALO
Our signature instrument surrounds the reading with a fine measurement ring: 1 dB minor ticks, 10 dB majors, a live marker that orbits with the level, and a peak marker that holds briefly after a sudden sound. It responds to sound energy without ever becoming a light show.

LIVE WAVEFORM
A thin, continuous waveform shows the last ten seconds of sound activity — measurement feedback, not decoration.

SESSION STATISTICS
Minimum, average and maximum values, session duration and background noise floor, laid out to be scanned in a second.

PEAK DETECTION
Sudden loud events are caught as they happen: the marker moves, the peak indicator appears, the maximum updates, and the accent warms from cyan through amber to red as levels rise.

SAVE AND REVIEW SESSIONS
Save any measurement with a name. Each saved session opens into a detailed view with an acoustic timeline, the highest recorded point with its timestamp, an average reference line, and time spent above 60 dB.

SOUND GUIDE
A single continuous acoustic scale from a whisper to a jackhammer, so you can place your own readings in context.

CALIBRATION
Phone microphones differ between devices. If you have access to a reference sound meter, set an offset in fine increments and the whole instrument follows.

PLEASE NOTE
Readings are approximate and vary by device, environment and microphone calibration. Very high and very low levels may exceed the useful range of a phone microphone. Calibrating against a trusted reference meter improves accuracy. This app is not a replacement for certified professional sound measurement equipment.
