BenZai: Family Home Organiser

About this app

BenZai is one private app for one family — everything a household actually runs on, in one place, shared only with the people you invite.

THE WEEK
Plan the week's meals with a name against every dinner, so everyone knows whose turn it is. On the day, mark it cooking now, cooked, or what happened instead. Sunday's suggestions for next week are written from how your family really ate.

RECIPES YOU CAN FOLLOW
Get a recipe for any dish, with what you need and how long it takes. Never made it before? Show me how walks you through it one step at a time, with a picture of each moment, a timer for the steps that wait, and each step read aloud.

THE KITCHEN
BenZai checks the plan against your cupboard and shows what is missing. One tap puts it on the shopping list, and everyone is told the moment it lands. Tick it off and it goes back in the cupboard.

THE HOUSE
Chores with a name and a date, or neither. They come back on their own and rotate.

MONEY AND GROWTH
Bills with what is due next and who paid last. Savings pots that keep every amount in and out. Habits drawn as runs you can see, numbers you want to watch, and who owes whom — netted, so four small debts are one conversation.

A CHAT WITHOUT A SHARED LANGUAGE
Each person picks the language they read in. Messages arrive translated; voice notes arrive as voice notes, spoken in the listener's language. Twelve languages, including Twi, Ewe, Ga, Yorùbá and Hausa alongside English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German and Arabic.

CALLS
Voice and video calls straight between phones, with live captions in each person's own language.

LEARN AND PLAY
Ten-minute lessons that listen to you speak. Chess, draughts, four in a row, sudoku, puzzles and arcade games, each with twenty rungs from gentle to genuinely hard — and challenges against someone at home.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No feed, no strangers, no advertising. The only people in your family are the ones you invited. Messages travel encrypted; because they are translated on our servers, they are not end-to-end encrypted, and we say so plainly.

What’s new

Keyboard fix: the message box now sits correctly above the on-screen keyboard.
