About this app

Ploi is a plant care tracker and plant diary for your houseplants. Log each watering and Ploi learns how often every plant really gets thirsty, then reminds you on a watering schedule that fits your home instead of a generic chart.

Watering reminders that learn

No app can know exactly how often to water a plant: light, humidity, pot size and the season all change the answer. So Ploi works it out from what you do. It looks at the last few waterings you logged, ignores the one-off gaps, and sets the next date from your real rhythm. Prefer a fixed interval for a particular plant? Switch that plant to fixed. Reminders arrive once a day, at the time you choose, as one list of everything that is due.

Reminders for the rest of your plant care

The same schedule works for fertilizing, misting, wiping leaves, repotting and pruning, and you can add care types of your own. Set a task every few days, or tie it to your waterings, such as fertilizer with every other watering.

Your plants on the home screen

Add the Ploi widget to your home screen and see what needs care without opening the app. Small sizes show what is next; the large one is a board of what is overdue, due today and due this week, with the weather where your plants live if you want it. Tap a plant and it opens. You choose what the widget shows and can write your own message for the days when everything is done.

A care log for every plant

Every watering, feeding, repotting and note goes into that plant's own timeline. One entry can hold several kinds of care, a note and photos, and you can edit it later. Long after, you can see exactly when you last fertilized, how long the plant went between waterings, or the day a new leaf opened. Watered a whole shelf? Select the plants and mark them all at once.

Growth photos and charts

Add photos to a plant or to any log entry and watch its story come together. A monstera, a snake plant or a peace lily looks different six months later, and Ploi keeps every photo. A growth chart tracks height, and a watering chart shows the gaps between waterings so you can spot the odd one out.

Rooms, weather and rain

Group plants by room, shelf or balcony, and mark each spot as indoor or outdoor. Ploi shows the weather where your plants are, and when you log rain, the next watering for outdoor plants moves back to match.

Share the care

Invite a partner, a roommate or a plant sitter. A caretaker can log waterings, notes and photos while you are away, and the history stays with the plant.

Look up a species in Ploi's care guides for its watering, light, toxicity and pest notes. Not sure what you have? Take a photo, identify the plant and start its care log right away.

I DLed this a while ago. As it's summer, most of my plants are outside - but I quickly filled up 20 slots. Well, I went to add one today and discovered that 20 is the max for the free version. As it's a quality app, how $much$... Turns out he built the app to run off his personal server (is he collecting and selling our data?) and feels that $60 a year is a fair price for any amount over 20 plants (have you heard of tiered pricing?). I don't need your server, dude, just a reminder. toodles

So, I have had this app for about 6 months. It is the ONLY reason my plants are alive! I've had a couple of small issues, and OMG, is there customer service amazing! Seriously, I wish everyone cared this much about their products! Great app, not just a watering reminder....fertilizer, repotting, moving location, everything!

I love love love this app. It helps me keep track of all my plants watering schedules. I love that it has a photo album to track progress. I love that it shows how frequently you have been watering your plants, and uses that to average out when you should probably water your plant next; or that you can push back the reminder date if it doesn't align to when you water. Love it. Exactly what I need.
