Do you remember back in the day before modern technology took over that people just used to run into each other spontaneously on the main square of the village? Or that your grandparents house would be packed with neighbors or family members.
All this used to happen without any planning or through the use of a device. It was very normal to just go over to someone's house and walk in without announcing it in advance or ask permission for it. Finding each other was just something that happened organically.


In some southern cultures where the weather is convenient this still exists today because people live more outside. But in many countries in our northern hemispheres due to modernisation, welfare, immigration and evolution a lot of these basic social gatherings got lost.


But somehow these unplanned moments are actually the most valuable memories we remember!

As founders of U-turn we have seen many places in the world and noticed that joy and happiness come easily into existence where people still have spontaneous social interactions and unplanned encounters.

In our western society we see people living ahead of time, agenda’s filled with future plans and people rushing from one appointment to the next. This has become a daily reality for many of us.

So this is why we created U-turn, a tool to connect us again to the way of life we used to live! Spontaneous social gatherings somehow was the fundament of our society, it got lost and increased isolation.
With U-turn we want to turn this back around and create space again in people busy agenda’s for spontaneous encounters with their friends and families. This app gives people the power to change the outcome of their day in a second and turn it into an everlasting memory.
