Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameshwaram is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites, and one of the 274 Paadal Petra Sthalams celebrated in the Tevaram. The temple is famed for the longest temple corridor in the world — the third prakara, where 1,212 carved granite pillars run in an unbroken perspective, the easternmost colonnade alone stretching 197 m.
