You didn't choose to be here. Now you can.
dhyāna is a physical-pause app for the apps you open without meaning to. Not a screen-time report. Not a countdown. Not a lecture about how much you scrolled.
How it works :
Pick the apps that pull you in — Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, whatever it is for you — and set a daily time budget for each one. dhyāna runs quietly in the background. When you cross a limit, it doesn't lock you out. It asks for a few seconds of real, physical attention: balance a dot by tilting your phone, or hold still if it's late at night. Nothing clever, nothing to solve — just enough friction to break autopilot and hand the decision back to you.
Once you've paused, you choose what happens next. Close the app. Take a breath. Or keep going — the choice is always yours. dhyāna's job isn't to stop you. It's to make sure you're the one deciding, not your thumb.
Built to be honest about what it does
No internet permission. dhyāna cannot send anything anywhere, to us or anyone else — everything happens entirely on your device.
No Accessibility Service. dhyāna cannot read text, screenshots, or content from any app, monitored or not.
No analytics, no ad SDKs, no third-party trackers. Nothing is collected, because there's nowhere for it to go.
Three permissions, each with one specific job — see the full breakdown in our privacy policy.
This is an early build
dhyāna is in active testing. Some things are still rough around the edges — we'll tell you what to expect when you join. If something breaks or feels wrong, tell us. We're building this in the open, one real report at a time.
Your thumb moves before you decide. dhyāna just makes sure you get a say.
A physical pause before you scroll past your limit — not a countdown.
