DocxCraft opens Word documents and Excel workbooks on your phone and lets you edit them — without an account, without a subscription, and without sending your files anywhere.

Your documents stay on your device. DocxCraft has no internet permission at all, so it cannot upload a file even by accident. No sign-in, no cloud, no ads, no tracking.

DOCUMENTS THAT LOOK LIKE DOCUMENTS

Most phone editors reflow a document into a wall of text. DocxCraft lays it out on real pages, with the paper size, margins, headers and footers the file actually specifies. It reads the document's own styles, theme fonts and theme colours, so headings, quotes and body text look the way the author set them up.

It ships metric-compatible fonts, so lines break in the same places they do on a desktop and the page count matches. Tables keep their borders, shading, column widths and merged cells. Bullets and numbering restart correctly. Pictures, hyperlinks and tab stops all render.

EDIT WITHOUT WRECKING THE FILE

• Type anywhere — text keeps the formatting of the run it belongs to

• Alignment, indent, line spacing, bullets, numbering, paragraph styles
• Insert pictures, tables, links and page breaks
• Resize a picture by dragging a corner, or drag it anywhere on the page

SPREADSHEETS THAT ACTUALLY CALCULATE

• Around 130 functions — SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, COUNTIFS, TEXT and more
• The whole workbook recalculates as soon as you change a cell
• Number formats, dates, currency, percentages and custom format codes
• Fonts, fills, borders, alignment, wrapping and merged cells
• Add, rename and delete sheets
• Insert and delete rows and columns — formulas are repointed, including absolute and cross-sheet references
• Sort a block by a column, freeze panes, and see Average / Count / Sum as you select

OPENS FROM ANYWHERE

Tap a .docx or .xlsx in your file manager, your email or a chat and pick DocxCraft. It opens read-only so a stray tap cannot change a file you only meant to read — one tap on Edit unlocks everything.

SAVES FILES WORD AND EXCEL STILL RECOGNISE

DocxCraft edits the file's own XML rather than rebuilding it. Everything you did not touch is carried across untouched — themes, settings, macros, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, revision history. Edit one paragraph and the rest of the file comes back byte for byte, so it opens cleanly on a desktop with no repair prompt.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

Being straight about the edges:

• The older .doc and .xls formats are a completely different file type and are not supported
• Charts and SmartArt keep their space and show a placeholder rather than drawing
• Tracked changes are shown as though insertions were accepted; reviewing them is not supported
• Conditional formatting is preserved when saving but is not evaluated on screen

PERMISSIONS

None. DocxCraft asks for no permissions whatsoever. Files are chosen through Android's own file picker, which grants access to just the file you picked.
