About this app

Created for those who want to stop smoking for good, the NHS Quit Smoking app is a 28 day programme that puts practical support, encouragement, and tailored clinical advice in the palm of your hand.
The evidence suggests you are 5 times more likely to quit for good if you stay smoke free for 28 days, with this in mind we will help you on your own personal journey to quit.
We’ll be with you every step of the way, helping you achieve your target, picking you up if you stumble, and celebrating your successes for 28 days - and beyond!
Every week we will provide a guide broken down into manageable chunks, giving you missions to complete and timely, useful advice.

Working well at the moment. Works well for what it is, few issues I have found 1, unable to get in touch with anyone, if you need help. 2, how to update the notifications. 3, unable to update or work one of the badges, so in essence you may not complete them all. 4, unable to update the settings when you go into them, if you wanted to change anything. 5, unable to update buddy to gain staying in touch medal. 6, unable to have the choice not to reset if you do smoke the odd one, not full relapse.

Sometimes when entering the app from the push notification it freezes and doesn't load, which makes me close the app and forget about it. As such, I don't record correctly. There's no way to go back in the calendar and mark a smoking day, so the choice is either to falsely say I haven't smoked or to restart the app. A feature where I can go back into the calendar and mark a smoking day, updating the counter from that date (instead of restarting the app) would be more convenient.

Overall helpful but a couple of improvements of things that annoyed me: 1. Not being able to change the amount you pay or smoke per day once you set it up is annoying. Mine vary from £9 to £11 and I could smoke 2 or 10 in day. 2. Other apps have financial targets which I find really motivating. I ended up paying for another support app with better features so I use it to save for small rewards to keep me inspired. 3. Only lasts for 28 days. 4. It's good that its free.
