Doha Magazine was founded in 1969, with its first issue published by the Media Department – Radio in November of that year. It ceased publication in 1986 but resumed in 2007. Throughout its history, Doha Magazine remains one of the most important general cultural magazines in the Arab world. Based on its founding motto, "A Meeting Place for Arab Creativity and Human Culture," and its focus on Arab readers from the Atlantic to the Gulf and across the globe, Doha Magazine serves as Qatar's window onto Arab and international culture, and a strong bridge between the cultures of the Levant and North Africa.
