Opt out of mass surveillance. Private turn-by-turn navigation. No account, no ads, no trackers. Every trip offers two routes: fastest, or one with fewer ALPR cameras.
FlockHopper is a turn-by-turn navigation app with one extra trick: for every trip, it generates two routes - the fastest, and an alternative that routes around known automated license plate reader (ALPR) camera locations.
You pick which one you want. Camera locations are rendered directly on the map, so you can see what you're driving past.
Navigation features include turn-by-turn voice guidance with lane hints, full-screen search with categories and points of interest, and background navigation that keeps directions running with the screen off.
On the privacy side: no account, no sign-up, no ads, no third-party trackers, no data logging. Your location is used to compute a route and never stored or tied to an identity. Map tiles are self-hosted. Places lookup and geocoding is powered by geoapify, proxied through Cloudflare.
FlockHopper is built and maintained by one developer with no investors and no subscription. Everything is free.
Camera data is community-sourced and coverage varies by region — it won't always be complete or current.
FlockHopper is a tool for reducing exposure to ALPR networks, not a guarantee. Follow traffic laws and drive safely.
FlockHopper is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any commercial surveillance vendor. Camera data is community-sourced and publicly available.
