The app is barely functional: - Frequently dropped events (no push notification, no sound, nothing) - Even when it delivers the notification, the app uses media volume instead of notification volume. If you had your music volume turned down, you're not going to notice your doorbell Keep in mind, this is AFTER I've turned off battery optimization and allowed unrestricted background data usage for the app in Android's settings. The developer clearly doesn't know what they're doing

I don't have issues with the image during the day, but of course, that is not when things are locked. For night, there is no automatic schedule to turn on the IR cut filter. Therefore, unless you manually hit the IR illumination button when using the app, you get an awful, grainy image. If you can code in a button, how hard would it be to create an automatic schedule? It adds complexity to access control, not alleviates it. I cannot recommend this product to customers for that reason.

The IR light turns on automatically if the doorbell is rung or a motion is detected. One of these events must take place for the IR light to turn on automatically. Please check the settings in the DoorBird app: Settings -> Administration -> Expert settings -> IR light. If you turn off the automatic IR lights, then you can still manually turn it on.

The app is supposed to allow visitors search for your name on the door terminal. However, you can't add your name to the directory even as a resident with a login. To do so, you need to call DoorBird, and they type tour name for you a price of $90/name. Depending on how long your name is, this comes to $10-$45 per character that they have to type. Another issue: door code works about 33% of the time. The other 67% "Action performed" message appears but nothing happens. Same code each time.

We do not charge any fees for using the app or changing settings. If you live in a multi-tenant building, then it is probably your administrator / facility manager who is charging you for their work. We assure you that we do not receive or charge any fees from them. In regards to the second issue, we fixed this bug with the latest firmware update.
