About this app

Have you ever wanted to keep your device's screen on longer than normal? Want to make your screen go to max brightness when you are using navigation or viewing your vacation photos? With Wakey, you can keep your screen on as long as you like.

Wakey keeps your screen on, on your terms - make the screen really bright, dim, or even completely dark - but the phone's still awake and working. Wakey can also be set to keep your screen on when certain apps or games are active, or when the device is charging, or even when you are looking at the device.

Enable Wakey manually with the big bulb right in the app at any time, and tap it again or use the notification to disable it.

Wakey Premium (in-app upgrade) has several features that will make your life even easier:

FaceWake Keep your screen awake while you are using the device.

AppWake Automatically keep your screen awake when certain apps are in the foreground. If you want to keep the screen on to see album art while music is playing or while playing games, this feature is great for you.

If you have limited dexterity or physical disabilities, AppWake allows you to ensure the screen stays on while you use apps requiring extra time to navigate and allows the screen turn off quickly all other times.

Note: When the AppWake Accessibility Service is enabled, it monitors which apps are foreground on your device so it can enable Wakey as the configured. The Wakey accessibility service cannot see the contents of the window or anything that you type, nor can it listen to the microphone or use the camera. No data about your specific use of AppWake is collected or shared with anyone.

ChargeWake Automatically keep your screen awake when it's charging.

Tasker Plugin You can use Tasker or Locale to customize Wakey more than ever! Set Wakey to react to whatever triggers Tasker supports. Night-time browsing? Set the screen to remain on & dim. Using nav during the day? Set the screen on full brightness. You now have more control than ever!

Very disappointed that this app would not work for me on my Samsung Galaxy A42 5G. Unfortunately, after trying many, many settings changes, I could never make this app work. I just want an app that will keep my phone screen on when I am making a phone call. I really thought this one would be perfect since the AppWake function would let me select which apps the screen would stay on for. There is also no widget that let's you know when Wakey is actively keeping the screen on.

Thank you for the feedback. Have you contacted me for help? There's a menu item for Help & Feedback in the app. I'm happy to discuss and if you need a refund, I'm happy to provide that as well. Also, there IS a widget available as well as a Quick Setting tile, and you can enable notifications on Wakey (via the OS) to show status in the status bar.

Wakey fills a much needed purpose, and it is very well designed. It does a great job (at least on my Galaxy S9) if you just want to invoke it when you needed it by swiping down from the top to see the Quick Settings icon (where icons for Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, etc. are). It adds itself there. You can also tell it to work with only certain apps, only when the phone is unplugged, and other choices. Everything is well designed and the options cover a wide range of scenarios. If there is another app out there that can compete with Wakey for this purpose, I have never seen it, and I wouldn't have any interest in it anyway because Wakey rocks solid. [NOTE: I previously gave this a 3-star review because it quit working, but then I went to Play Store and realized there was an update. After updating, it works perfectly, so It's back to 5 stars.

Excellent app. I use it for when I copy notes from photos I have taken. I enabled Wakey Wakey, bam, no more tapping the screen to keep it on. And in the premium verion, the screen will stay on when looking at the phone, if you turn this feature on. Android use to do this automatically, but that feature was removed a while ago. This app takes care of that!

What's new

I am completely updating the payment and licensing aspects of the app, to finally fix some long-time bugs. The changes might cause new bugs initially, so if you see anything wrong, please let me know via Help & Feedback in the app menu.
I've also added some bug fixes and other improvements.
