This is a review of the app, not the service (which I enjoy). The Shudder app is the bare minimum for streaming. It's just functional for playing the movies. It has a wishlist that must be scrolled through from the start, everytime, after clicking on a title to learn more. No big deal until you have several dozen movies in it. I have both visual & hearing issues, so I always use captioning. Sadly, there is no customization of the font size, background or color. Like I said- bare minimum.

This app is riddled with bugs and is prone to hard crashes, but my main problem(s) are with the service. When I realized that most of the movies and shows on here are free on other services like Plex or Kanopy, I sought to unsubscribe. I got a notification that I successfully did so on the website, but not in my email. I was then charged for an additional month. I brought this up through their supplied customer support email, but I have not received a response in several days. Avoid.

The app, while it has its issues, isn't really the problem. It's the selection of movies available. The newer/exclusive films they get aren't generally the good or entertaining. Also very little variety in each sub genre, such as creature features. Edit: Many times it'll give an error when trying to play a vid and can only fix by force closing. Not happy this auto renewed.
