How much data did your phone use behind your back today?
Data Usage Monitor finds the data that moved while apps weren't on screen (background data), shows you which apps used it and when, and helps you cut it down.
■ Today
- See today's background data as one big number.
- Check today's mobile and Wi-Fi usage, plus mobile usage this month and last month.
- An hourly heatmap shows when data use piles up. View the last 7 or 14 days, or a 30-day average by weekday.
- Apps that used mobile data unusually are pointed out for you.
■ App data
- View per-app usage for today, yesterday, 7 days, this month, last month, or any dates you pick on the calendar.
- See in-use vs. background share, screen time and data per hour for each app.
- Every app shows why it was judged that way, and you can mark apps you trust as OK.
- System services are grouped together so you can drill in.
■ App checkup
- A checklist of only the apps worth cleaning up or limiting in the background.
- Finds apps with heavy mobile data use, apps you haven't opened for a long time that still use data, apps that use more data in the background than in use, and recently installed apps.
- Estimates how much you could save each month by cleaning them up.
- Jump straight to App info to turn off background data or clean up, and keep checked apps in their own list.
■ Daily log
- Check which apps used background data on each day over the last 30 days.
■ Widgets
- See today's data and background share right on your home screen.
- The widget adapts to its size, with adjustable opacity and text size.
■ Make it yours
- Follow system, light or dark theme, and adjustable text size.
- Get notified when an app needs a look. (Optional)
[Notes]
- Per-app judgments are estimates based on usage patterns and do not mean an app is doing anything wrong.
- The content of your traffic is never inspected. All analysis happens on your device.
- Due to how Android records statistics, usage from the last 1–2 hours may appear late.
- Android keeps per-app data records for about 90 days.
- Some system services can't be named due to Android policy and appear as "App without a name".
[Permissions]
- Usage access: required to read data usage and screen time for each app.
- App list: reads the list of apps visible on your device to show usage by app name. Never sent off the device.
- Notifications (optional): used to let you know when an app needs a look.
