About this app

UMPC Keyboard is a keyboard app specifically designed for dual-screen handheld gaming devices like the Ayaneo Pocket DS and Ayn Thor.

Existing keyboard apps often occupy half the screen, obscuring the app you're typing on. UMPC Keyboard perfectly solves this problem. It displays a wide, comfortable keyboard across the entire bottom screen, leaving the top screen free to use the app. It provides an optimal typing experience for all situations, including in-game chat, web browsing, and document creation.

[Full Dual Screen Support]

UMPC Keyboard's core feature is dual-screen optimization. It utilizes Android's Presentation API to display an independent keyboard screen on the bottom display. Apps on the top screen are unaffected, and the keyboard doesn't shift or shrink when it's displayed.

It can also be used on regular smartphones and tablets without a dual screen. In this case, the standard keyboard appears in the bottom 35% of the screen, functioning just like a traditional keyboard.


[ Smart Theme System ]

UMPC Keyboard automatically detects your system's Dark Mode setting and switches themes. Light Mode displays a bright, clean white keyboard, while Dark Mode displays a dark gray keyboard to reduce eye strain.

When you press a key, an iOS-style pop-up effect appears, visually indicating which key you've pressed. This helps reduce typos even during fast typing.

[ Convenient Input Features ]

The Shift key operates in three modes: Pressing it once capitalizes the next letter. Pressing it twice quickly activates Caps Lock, allowing you to continue typing in uppercase. Pressing it again deactivates it.

The Ctrl and Alt keys are also supported. You can use shortcuts such as Copy (Ctrl+C), Paste (Ctrl+V), and Select All (Ctrl+A).

Separate layers are also provided for entering numbers and symbols. Pressing the symbol key switches to a screen where you can enter numbers and special characters.

[Required Permissions]

Input Method Service: This is a core permission for the keyboard function. This permission is required to input text in other apps.


[How to set up]

1. Install and launch the app.
2. Press the Keyboard Activation button to access System Settings.
3. Activate UMPC Keyboard.
4. Select UMPC Keyboard as the default input method.
5. Set your preferred language.
