About this app

Earmark is a free, audio-based continuing professional education app for accounting and tax professionals, including CPAs, CMAs, and EAs.

HOW IT WORKS

Earn CPE whenever you want, wherever you go:

1. Choose a course. Complete each learning activity at your own pace.
2. Learn by listening to podcast episodes. Listen while driving to work, working out, doing chores, etc.
3. Confirm you’ve learned the material by taking the short quiz at the end of the course. Score 75% or higher to pass.
4. Email yourself a CPE certificate. Earmark helps by keeping track of all your CPE earned through the app.

Ratings and reviews

The great thing about Earmark is that I can listen to a podcast while I am walking, then get CPE credit. One great part is there are multiple ways to listen to the podcasts, you are not stuck with one delivery method. Then when I do the review questions after my walk, it solidifies what the learning goals were, unlike other methods with were you are just listening for a polling question and not really absorbing the content.

I really enjoy Earmark, I learn well by listening and I love being able to earn CPE via podcast, it is practical and makes it very convenient to access high quality content. There is a great selection of CPE content, that is for the most part, is really engaging and current. The app works well and is easy to navigate. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes podcasts and needs CPE.

The app is clunky and the branding is misleading. This was advertised to me as a source of Enrolled Agent Continuing Education credits, but more than half of the credits don't actually qualify for IRS CE, and are instead only for CPAs or for other Continuing Education that is not IRS approved. The app does not make a very clear distinction on this, and I've spent hours on credits that will never apply to my license renewal. Bad design, bad audio controls, and misinformation make this a bad app
