About this app

HardSubOCR extracts burned-in (hardcoded) subtitles from video on your phone — fully offline. Nothing is uploaded. When you are done, export SRT or TXT.

Anyone who needs text from videos that have no separate subtitle file: translators, fansubbers, researchers, and personal archives.

Recognition runs on-device with RapidOCR (ONNX). Videos stay on your phone. We do not collect your video files on our servers.

Download is free. You get a 7-day full-feature trial from first launch. After the trial, existing projects can still be previewed. OCR and export require a Google Play subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically through Google Play at the price shown at checkout. Cancel anytime in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Access remains until the end of the current billing period. A lifetime purchase unlocks OCR and export permanently for this Google account.
