About this game

Note: Dropwords 2 is a rewrite of my old Dropwords game. It includes the same play style and game modes, but has some technical improvements, including running more smoothly on modern devices, using much less battery power, and more graceful handling of different screen sizes!

Dropwords 2 is word-finding puzzle. Valid words boost your score and the dwindling timer; used letters disappear and new ones drop from above.

The game includes six game modes: Normal, Hard, Lightning, Blocker, Relax and Untimed. Whether you just want to relax, or are looking for something challenging, there's a game mode that will suit you.

The game offers three dictionaries:
1. A SOWPODs word game competition list, containing 114575 2-to-8-letter words, including plurals (but not proper nouns).
2. A word list based on the Webster's New International Dictionary, 2nd Edition, this contains 120127 2-to-9-letter words. Includes some proper nouns, but not plurals.
3. Both! The combination of the two; the game uses this option by default.

You can switch dictionary via the game's Options dialog.

Have fun!

Coming soon:
1. More visual themes.
2. "Bomb drop" game mode.

I played the original version very frequently. I do not like the visuals of version II. My scores have dropped and I can't really tell if the game has gotten a bit more difficult or it is just harder to spot words with the new graphics. Play only rarely now, really miss tbe old version. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

This game prepares you for other word games. you can change a lot of options: I set the display for 5x5 rows and columns, not to inlude QU so I get the Q + U as separate letters I have set it for QU as one, a big problem is when you want to use either letter Q or U by itself you can't. You can use your own words too. If you can't figure the game out fix it as untimed until you do. There are instructions included which makes it easier to play. Other word games can prepare you for this and this one prepares you for others.

I like the game. One issue is that when sounds are muted, ads at the end of the game pop up with sound on. This can cause a major issue if I need ALL sounds to be muted. I'm fine with ads, but mute should mean for ALL sounds. Sometimes the game plateaus for too long and you can't get on the scoreboard, but overall, this is a great have. I like being able to add words, I like the challenge and relaxation of the game and the different models available. Just please mute the ads!
