Review from Nabhanyu Sharma
Loved how my choices actually seemed to affect the progress of the game, unlike some other games of this category. The story has many beautiful words, so the story as a whole is pretty exciting too. What I'd appreciate is a few covert hints now and then from a character/the narrator about what manner of choices would be more mentally/physically tiring, because sometimes they seem to contradict earlier decisions. The end totally has me hanging- I'm definitely playing/reading the other two parts!
January 22, 2017Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed the choices. It sounds like you made it to the end? - Pat EDIT: Ah ha, so you did get there! Well done, it's not easy! - Pat
This game story is by far the best out there. The story and how it plays out is unique. The way the graphics appear in a sort of water color way add to the story instead of distracting from it. The controls are easy and the way they've used mini games to tie into the main game is fun and actually matters and alters your game slightly. It requires no permissions at least on my phone and has very little ads. Shockingly little amount of ads. It's addictive for sure and everyone should check it out. It's nice to have such a great game that lets us make so many different choices too.
Great game! I was really surprised to find such an intriguing story in a free app, and I finished the whole thing in one go. In the next update I would like to see a list of achievements (instead of having to wait until the end) and an option to re-read the chapters to figure out which choices are better for the mind, body, etc. Can't wait for the next book to be released! EDIT: can all the achievements be completed?? I'm going nuts trying to get each one.
I love this game. I used to play the 'choose your own adventure' books as a kid and this brings back happy memories. I think the eighth continent is better written than the old books though. One thing I find frustrating is not knowing how to get all the achievements. I've played over and over and there are still some I can't get. I wish there was a walkthrough for achievements. I'm currently playing yet again and trying to do a walkthrough at the same time so I can see where I'm missing things. I could do with more 'save' slots - one for each chapter would be nice. Great app though. Can't wait for part 3.
Very Entertaining This game is well written, has likeable characters, and high replay value. I enjoyed the inclusion of the minigames to break up the text and offer a different element to the CYOA genre. (For anyone who dislikes or has trouble with the minigames, you can chose to skip them in your settings.) I would highly recommend this game and look forward to playing the second game.
Changed my opinion!! I was never a fan of text games..but This game is based on post Apocalypse story, that got me...and must say...i am hooked to it. Although this game is perfect in its category and for people who are not bored by reading, It would make a great 3d game..Anyways thanks for this amazing game!
For the longest time I've said "why can't text adventure games have sound effects and pictures in them", and then I finally found a game to meet my taste! Most text adventure games are just white text on black backgrounds...very very boring! This one has a brilliant UI, stunning graphics and fonts to match. Without question, I'm sure a lot of time and effort were incorporated into this gem. Great job all around developers/graphic designers! :)
1) Improved fight help text and added help text for dynamic options.
2) Various typos and minor fixes.
3) Vendor now update if the player consumes saleable items from their inventory.
4) Vendor mini-games stay a minimum height to make help dialogs easier to read when the item list is short.
