About this app

Walking around with rubbish in your hand and no bin in sight? Bin Locator is a map of public trash bins that people pin together. Open the app and see exactly where the nearest bin is — and what kind of bin it is.

🗑️ Know the bin type before you walk over
Every pin is coloured by bin type: blue for general waste, green for compostable, yellow for recycling, red for hazardous waste. Where several bins stand together, one pin splits into all of their colours, so you know in advance whether you can actually throw away what you are carrying.

🏢 Bins inside buildings, floor by floor
Indoor bins can be tagged with a floor, including basement levels. Zoom in on a building with bins on more than one floor and a floor selector appears on the right of the map — tap to switch between floors. Outdoor bins always stay visible whichever floor you pick.

📍 Add the bins you find
Spotted a bin that is not on the map? Long-press that spot, choose the bin types (pick several if several bins stand there), set the floor and building name if it is indoors, attach a photo if you like, and add it. Your pin appears for everyone right away.

🔍 Zoom out for the big picture
Pins shrink into small dots as you zoom out, so the map stays readable even in areas packed with bins, then return to full pins with icons as you zoom back in.

👀 Browse without an account
Open the app and use the map straight away — no sign-in needed. You only sign in with Google when you want to add a pin, so contributions can be attributed and the map stays trustworthy.

🏆 Top contributors
See who has been filling in the map. The more bins you pin, the higher you climb.

⚙️ Also included
• Thai and English, switchable inside the app
• Filter the map by bin type with a tap on the colour bar
• Report pins that are wrong — bin removed, moved, or wrong type
• Delete any pin you added yourself, any time
• Clear warnings when you are offline instead of silent failures

🔒 Privacy
Location permission is used only to show where you are on the map and find bins near you. Your location is never stored or shared. The only coordinates saved are those of the bins you choose to pin.

Every pin here comes from someone who took a moment to add it. The more people contribute, the more complete the map becomes. Pin one bin near you today, and someone walking past tomorrow will find it faster 🌱

🔍 Pins shrink to small dots when you zoom out, so the map stays readable with lots of bins
🏢 Indoor floors! Pin a bin inside a building, choose its floor and name the building, then switch floors with the new selector on the right. Outdoor bins always stay visible
