About this game

You were left at the gate of St. Agatha's Home for Children on a Tuesday in November. No note. No name.

That is where Ember begins.

Ember is a dark, literary narrative game for adults. You guide an orphan — named by a stranger, raised by the system — from the cold halls of a children's home all the way through to old age. Every choice you make shapes who they become. Every consequence is permanent.

There is no undo. Ember can die!

THE GAME

Seven life stages. Twenty scenes. Sixty-two choices. Five possible endings.

From the orphanage to the streets to adolescence, early adulthood, the crossroads of midlife, and finally the quiet reckoning that comes with age — Ember's story is shaped entirely by what you decide.

Choose to be guarded or open. Ambitious or cautious. Moral or pragmatic. Every decision ripples forward. A friendship made at seven can save a life at thirty-two. A scholarship ignored at twelve can close a door forever.

EMBER'S STATS

Five hidden stats track Ember's wellbeing throughout their life:

· Health — the body keeps the score
· Hope — the light that keeps Ember going
· Trust — ability to love and be loved
· Wealth — financial stability
· Reputation — how the world sees Ember

If Health or Hope reaches zero, Ember dies. The story ends. You see exactly why — and which choices led there.
THE ENDING

Reach old age and receive one of five deeply written endings:

· A Full Life — flourishing in every sense
· A Life Well Lived — quiet and genuinely good
· Still Standing — alive against the odds
· A Life Half-Lived — comfortable, but hollow
· The Weight of It — bent, but not broken

Each ending includes a legacy score and a one-line epitaph — shareable on social media, meaningful enough to sit with.

THE JOURNAL

Every choice you make is recorded in Ember's Life Journal — a running account of every scene, every decision, and its consequence. Replay the game and your journal tells a completely different story.

SHARE YOUR STORY

At any scene, generate a beautiful shareable card — your current chapter, a pulled quote from the narrative, and Ember's stats. After death or a completed life, share a cinematic achievement card to social media. Every card includes a hook to bring new players in.

WHO IS EMBER FOR?

Adults who read literary fiction. Players who want consequence over comfort. Anyone who has ever wondered what kind of choices make a life.

Ember is not for children. It contains themes of poverty, loss, grief, addiction, moral failure, and love. It is rated 16+.
