About this app

CHOC’s Childhood Cancer Companion helps parents, caregivers, children, and families understand cancer and navigate the journey ahead.
A digital, interactive guidebook to walk the journey with you.
It also helps us understand what parents and children go through during a cancer diagnosis and treatment journey.

Our goal is to keep expanding the app with new features to help CHOC save lives through early detection and comprehensive support programmes for the families affected by cancer.

Once the app is downloaded, it uses no data and will run on your phone, even in the remotest parts of Africa.

Features include:
• Early warning signs to detect symptoms early
• Clear explanations of cancer types
• Support and advice for parents
• Keep your CHOC details with you all the time
• Keep track of the details of your doctors, CHOC staff, and other people who will walk this journey with you
• Advice on handling emotional and social challenges
• English & IsiZulu language support
• Audio playback to help make it easier for anyone to follow along in the app.
• 100% offline - no data needed

All content is reviewed by medical experts & the wonderful team at CHOC and designed to empower families with trusted, easy-to-understand support.
