MassBlocker blocks distracting apps until you do something real to unlock them.
Every other app blocker has a snooze button, and you always tap it.
MassBlocker doesn't. To open a blocked app you have to get up and scan a
QR code you placed somewhere out of reach — after a cooldown you can't skip.
HOW IT WORKS
- Pick the apps that distract you
- Place an unlock QR somewhere inconvenient (another room, the fridge, the gym)
- To open a blocked app, go scan it — then a short window, then a cooldown
- Want it stricter? Add a PIN and hand it to someone you trust
WHY IT WORKS
The unlock is a physical action, not a timer you wait out or a toggle you
switch off. The friction is the point.
ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
MassBlocker uses the Android Accessibility API to deliver its core feature:
blocking apps. The accessibility service detects when an app on your blocklist
comes to the foreground and immediately shows the lock screen. Without this
permission, MassBlocker cannot tell which app you just opened, and blocking
cannot work.
MassBlocker uses the accessibility service only to read the package name of
the app currently in the foreground so it knows whether to block it. It does
not read the content of your screen, capture text you type, or monitor what
you do inside other apps. Accessibility data stays on your device and is never
collected, shared, or sold.
