About this app
ESSNCE turns your phone into a full beat-making setup: sampler, drum machine, stem-splitter, and multi-track editor, in one app.
It captures audio from anything playing on your device — YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, voice notes, field recordings — and drops it onto 16 velocity-sensitive pads for chopping, pitching, and sequencing. Drag a loop in and the app finds the transients, slices on the hits, and lays the pieces across the pads in key.
SAMPLER
• 16 velocity-sensitive pads, monophonic or polyphonic
• ADSR, filters, bit crush, lo-fi, and reverse, per pad
• Mute groups and note repeat at 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32
• Reel-style loop preview with cue points and scrubbing
• Time stretch and pitch shift without chipmunk artifacts
• Chromatic mode — map any one-shot across the pads in key

• 16 tracks × up to 64 steps, 16 saveable patterns
• Song mode for chaining patterns into arrangements

PITCH AND CHORD DETECTION
Sing into the mic and the app names the note in real time. Play a chord on a keyboard and it names that too. Useful while you work, and while you're learning.
