About this app

The mobile app L'Oro di Montalcino acts as an orientation, guide and in-depth tool for the visit to the Complex of Sant'Agostino and the surrounding area, which is so characteristic and unique. Thanks to the three proposed itineraries - Complex of Sant’Agostino, Montalcino, Territory - the mobile app accompanies the visitor to discover the secular history of the area and its highest artistic, cultural and social manifestations.
A particular focus is dedicated to the Sant'Agostino Complex, which houses three distinct and particularly valuable museum areas: the two collections that make up the Civic and Diocesan Museum of Montalcino, the Sacred Art collection and the Archaeological collection, and the Tempio del Brunello (Temple of Brunello), a conceptual and emotional journey through the history and characteristics of Brunello di Montalcino, the king of the territory.
Of particular importance is the section of the app dedicated to the views of Montalcino: a taste and a selection of breathtaking views and evocative views of one of the most famous and iconic areas in the world.
The structure of the app allows a constant connection between inside and outside, between the Complex and the neighboring territories, so crucial in the historical evolution of the indigenous characteristics. Through numerous geo-localized Points of Interest (POI), located throughout the territory and among the museum rooms, the visitor is able to explore stories, anecdotes and detailed focus on works of art, places and traditions in an interactive and autonomous way. The Points of Interest are in fact characterized by text, audio, gallery, video or multimedia content files: these integrate the tour itinerary, providing it with multiple levels of in-depth analysis.
In the museum itinerary dedicated to the Tempio del Brunello, in particular, the app also allows you to activate various contents: in particular, in the Enoteca and in the area of the cloister discovered, by simply scanning a QR code it is possible to activate personalized experiences and additional and exclusive content.
