About this app

Archaeodigit is a European interregional project that promotes the enhancement of Italian and Croatian archaeological sites through digital tools and sustainable tourism strategies. It involves places that share the same challenge: revitalising marginal areas or those strongly affected by seasonality. The goal is to define an innovative methodology for the management, conservation, and promotion of archaeological sites, integrating new technologies and digital tourist routes to attract visitors throughout the year.

This app is dedicated to the city of Kaštela, located on the coast of central Dalmatia. Kaštela is the collective name for the seven villages that developed around seven fortresses built between the 15th and 16th centuries. The 20 km of coastline between Trogir and Split, bordered by the long and low Kozjak Mountain, have been considered ideal locations for fortifications since prehistoric times, thanks to their protected position. Discover the traces of this long stratified past on an itinerary that will take you from Kaštela to Salona, a fascinating experience to enjoy at any time of the year.
