Reef Ladder is a fish game about reading the ocean, choosing your next meal, and growing into a stronger species. Start with a small swimmer, find prey you can handle, and climb a 35-fish ladder through bright reefs, quiet kelp, and a deep moonlit trench. Each run is a clear choice: chase food, protect your hunger meter, or turn away before a larger predator turns you into lunch.

The core eat fish game loop is easy to understand and satisfying to master. Swim with the joystick or drag across the open water, close the distance to edible prey, and let automatic bite assist help you land a clean snack. If you prefer direct control, switch off Auto Bite and use the bite button. Tap POWER to use your species ability, then tap BOOST when you need a quick burst to chase a meal or escape a shark.

Every species changes the way the reef feels. Small fish are nimble and rely on safe routes. Mid-sized hunters can take fair fights. Large fish command space but still need to watch their hunger, stamina, and the red danger edges that warn when a hunter is near. Relative-size shapes communicate food, a fair fight, and a lethal threat without relying on color alone. Off-screen arrows and the objective line help you understand where to swim next.

Reef Ladder is also a fish eating game with a real sense of progression. Complete the objectives in Sun Reef, Kelp Garden, and Moon Drop. Cross reef arches, find cover, activate markers, survive patrols, and grow into two new fish during a chapter. Finish a guardian encounter to clear the chapter and unlock more starting-fish choices. Pearls are earned during runs and are used for visual cosmetics and the run-revive flow; they never buy power.

When you want a calmer look at the roster, open Fish Facts. Reef Explorer shows the actual live 3D model for every authored profile alongside a short, child-readable description of its home, diet, behavior, and a fun real-world fact. Ocean fish, freshwater fish, and ornamental fish are labeled honestly so the collection is easy to browse and easy to discuss.

Built for landscape play, Reef Ladder keeps its controls visible and its feedback readable on large screens. Settings let you adjust music and sound, joystick visibility, bite assistance, boost placement, camera shake, text size, color strength, objective markers, and graphics quality. The game stores progress locally with versioned save migration and does not require an account or an online connection.
