About this app

Welcome to Oberhaching! The free OHA app is the perfect companion for exploring the community. Navigation takes you to the individual stations.

The changes between then and now are shown impressively: With image sliders you swipe from left to right and change the perspective between a place as it looks today and as it did in the past.

For example, 40 years ago there was a magnificent inn on the site of a modern commercial building. And behind what is now an inconspicuous façade lies many an interesting life story. For example, that of Amalie Hohenester, who in the middle of the 19th century treated people with completely natural methods such as alternating baths, exercise and herbal juices and was decried by many as a quack.

Some may still remember the cinema on Hubertusstrasse or the many smaller shops that used to exist in town, such as the Spörer butcher shop on Münchner Strasse or Meyr Feinkost in Oberbiberg, which can be seen in the APP. However, few people probably know that Am Büchl was a secret Wehrmacht listening station during wartime and that the barracks there were later used to accommodate refugees.

All stations contain pictures and background information. There are videos and audio recordings at individual locations - drone flights, anecdotes, sounds and interviews. Florian Schelle, chairman of the Friends of the Wagner House, talks about the history of the house and its residents during a tour. In Kreuzpullach, church caretaker Ralf Müller is accompanied on a tour of the imposing Heilig Kreuz branch church. And Mayor Stefan Schelle tells the story behind the musicians' fountain in front of the Citizens' Hall.

Thanks to 360 degree recordings, you can explore the interiors of buildings that you don't always have access to. There is a special children's tour for primary school students, where they can discover interesting places and collect hidden treasures.

All information can be played directly on site - via mobile data, or, if the app has been previously downloaded, even without internet access.

And it's always worth checking out the app: new tours are constantly being added to it.
