About this app

Linecast lays a line drawing over the camera view of your paper, so you can trace it with a real pencil. Rest your phone on a glass, a stack of books or a tripod, watch the screen and draw. AR drawing made simple: trace, sketch and learn to draw in one app.

DRAW YOUR OWN PHOTO
• Any photo becomes clean line art, a sketch outline you can trace, at three levels of detail
• Remove the background and keep only the subject
• Pick from your gallery, take a photo, paste, or share from another app

257 TEMPLATES IN 21 CATEGORIES
Animals, flowers, portraits, anime, cute, dinosaurs, fantasy, tattoo, mandalas, architecture, botanical, anatomy studies and more. 40 are free, and today's drawing is free every day.

TRACING TOOLS
• Opacity, move, resize, rotate and mirror
• Screen lock, so a stray touch never moves the picture
• Pin to paper: the picture stays in place when the phone shifts
• Grid, flashlight, focus lock, paper sizes from A5 to A3, blink check
• Split a big picture into tiles for posters and walls
• Light table: trace straight off the screen, no camera needed

LEARN TO DRAW
• Step mode shows one part at a time
• 21 lessons, from first lines to portraits in tone
• Timed quick sketches and a daily streak

TIME-LAPSE VIDEO
Record while you draw and get a 15 or 30 second time-lapse with a before-and-after reveal. Save it or share it, with no watermark.

LETTERING
Type a name or a quote, pick a font and trace it.

PRIVATE
No account and no ads. Your photos and drawings stay on your phone.
