About this app

Write your first novel

Still can’t gather your strength? It happens pretty often. Writing books is easy; it’s hard to write good books. If this were not the case, we would all be creating bestsellers.
Every writer spends a lot of time thinking about a novel. Perhaps you are doing some research. You are calculating how the story will develop. You brainstorm, hear how the characters speak: it’s the essential part of creating a book. Your book has already formed in your head, and you are ready to sit down and start writing.

Organize your books

Before you get down to business, you should deal with organizational issues. It would be best to write down all the ideas in a form that you can then use. But why? Because our memory is unreliable and because your story (like any other that is at the same stage) has many holes that need to be patched before you start working. It would be best if you created a plan for the novel: in this case, it will not discourage you from writing.

“Snowflake Method”

The Fabula app is based on the “snowflake method” invented by Randy Ingermanson. You can quickly write novels, stories, fairy tales, fanfiction, any story. In just nine easy steps, you can create an outline for your book and start writing your first draft.
Fabula is your book writing assistant.

So far I really like the app. The UI is easy to navigate and it seems like a great way to organize my ideas. The only feature I would love to have added is the ability to add images and text editing (like bolding, italics, etc.) to the scenes section. Otherwise, I love that you can just click and drag scenes around as you piece together what makes sense. I really like all of the details and the relationship diagram in the character section.

Thank you very much for your feedback and such a high rating. And also thanks for your suggestions, in the future I plan to expand the capabilities of the text editor in the app.

Edit to 3 stars: I wrote 10 scenes over the period of a few days, and today all that content is gone. So disappointing. I don't know if this is the kind of thing I ever want to risk happening again.... I love the app. It helps you develop the pieces of the story and in so doing, more ideas come, and eventually when you write the general plot will be there, the characters , conflicts and scenes and you just have to expertly weave it together and tell the story.

Fabula is a great, simplistic app. The steps it gives you is a cool feature, but can be rather annoying. This app is mostly free, but does occasionally ask for a subscription. My primary complaint would be not being able to change the already set values under the 'charater' such as the 'conflict' and 'motivation'. It isn't a big deal, but would be nice.

Thanks for the feedback and high rating. And thanks for the idea, I'll think about making the pinned properties in the Personality section customizable.
