About this app

FailXP — The Failure Journal That Doesn't Lie to You

Most productivity apps congratulate you for checking a box. FailXP takes the opposite approach.

You fail. You document it. You improve.

What it really is:

FailXP is a gamified journal for people who fail often and want to stop pretending it doesn't happen.

You log your failure. You note what you tried, why it went wrong, and what you're going to adjust. You earn XP. You level up. And two characters, Ricky and Iris, watch you.

Ricky is cynical, narcissistic, and sometimes unfair. He never encourages you. He observes.

Iris is too sweet, too understanding, and sometimes naive. She excuses you when she shouldn't.

Together, they create a tension between pressure and kindness. You fall somewhere in between.

How it works:

→ You create a goal with a quota of failures (e.g., post 30 videos)
→ For each failed attempt, you log the failure: what you tried, the type of failure, the cause, and the planned adjustment
→ You earn XP for each log, more if you identify the cause and the adjustment
→ You can mark a failure as "overcome" when you've overcome it — a big reward
→ Your streak, your level, and your badges evolve over time

The XP system

+5 XP — log a failure
+5 XP — identify the cause AND the adjustment
+10 XP — try again within 48 hours
+30 XP — overcome a failure

Every 100 XP = one level.

RICKY & IRIS — the real driving force

They appear at specific times:
When you log a failure for the first time → general dialogue
When you repeat the same issue 3 times → Ricky becomes more curt
When you try again within 48 hours → Ricky is skeptical, Iris is enthusiastic
When you overcome a failure → Iris speaks first for once
When you return after 3 days of absence → Ricky gives you a proper welcome

Their tone also evolves according to your overall behavior. If you progress, Iris takes center stage. If you stagnate, Ricky dominates.

Who it's for:

- For creators who have been procrastinating for 3 months.

- For entrepreneurs whose launches are failing.

- For those who have read 40 self-help books and still do the same thing.

- For anyone who needs an honest place to record what isn't working without pity or gentle judgment.

What FailXP isn't:

- Not a LinkedIn coach.

- Not a mindfulness app.

- Not an empty reward system.

Not overly benevolent.

Fail better.
