Nabda is a free community app that helps users in Sudan share important local information between nearby devices, even when the internet is weak or down.
Users can post brief updates within specific categories, such as water and electricity availability, road conditions, services, and local alerts. Information is transmitted between nearby phones using the device's available communication technologies.
The app provides notifications for important information and includes controls to limit abuse, such as filtering offensive phrases, links, and numbers; limiting the number of posts; preventing duplication; and enabling local reporting and blocking.
The app does not include private conversations or financial transactions, and it does not request names, phone numbers, or personal data. Information expires automatically to help keep the content fresh and relevant.
