An application to identify sows at risk of stillbirth!
FarroWin® is a decision support tool. Before implementing specific measures on sows with regard to stillbirths, it is important to ensure that it is indeed a sow at risk!
The FarroWin® application is offered free of charge by Rezoolution to predict the stillbirth rate of a sow based on its litter rank, its performance at the previous farrowing and its backfat thickness before farrowing. It has the advantage of taking into account simple and easily accessible risk factors. The breeder is guided step by step in filling in the data. The application then produces a summary document with a reminder of the predicted stillbirth rates per sow and/or per flock. Once identified, management and monitoring measures can be prioritized for these sows with the aim of reducing stillbirths and improving well-being.
FarroWin® is based on a Bayesian statistical model built and updated from field data. The application assigns to each sow a predictive stillbirth rate which makes it possible to identify sows at risk.
The farmer can therefore put in place appropriate stillbirth prevention measures for sows at risk.
