About this app

Look up a food score in seconds: 200 everyday foods scored 0–100 in the FatTonic Food Index, each with the nutrition facts behind its number — glycemic load, sugar, processing, fiber and protein. It all works offline.

Not medical advice. FatTonic provides science-based education, not diagnosis or treatment. The FatTonic Score is an educational rating, not a clinical measure. Talk to a qualified professional before changing your diet, especially if you have diabetes or take medication. This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Look up any food. Search the Food Index by name or filter by aisle: fruit, vegetables, grains & bread, legumes, nuts & seeds, protein, dairy, snacks, drinks, sweeteners. Every row shows the food score, its band and its glycemic load.
• See the nutrition facts behind every score. Tap a food for its FatTonic Facts panel: it starts at 100 and shows the points each factor adds or removes — glycemic load, sugar, processing, fiber, protein — then carbs and fat per serving. No black box: the same arithmetic as fattonic.com.
• Compare within an aisle. Filter to breads, fruit or snacks and see how the foods you buy score side by side — a quick reference for healthy-eating choices in the shop or the kitchen.
• Take the Metabolic Score. Eight questions about meals, drinks, movement, sleep, snacking and stress; a 0–100 result, your dominant driver and the one lever to pull first.
• Keep your score history. Every Metabolic Score you take is saved on your phone, newest first, with the change since the one before.
• Set meal-time nudges. Breakfast, lunch and dinner reminders at the times you choose.

OPEN, CHECKABLE DATA
The Food Index is open data. Nutrient values for 194 of the 200 foods are matched to their USDA FoodData Central record, and FatTonic's own layer is published under CC BY 4.0 at fattonic.com/data. Glycemic index figures are excluded from that licence and most have no recorded per-food source; the glycemic load is computed from them. The About screen prints the dataset's own provenance statement.

BUILT FOR A PHONE
• Offline food index. The whole index ships inside the app, so every food score and its nutrition facts open with no connection. When you are online, the app refreshes from fattonic.com's published export and keeps the last copy.
• Local reminders. Nudges are scheduled on your phone — no push server, no device token. Android asks for notification permission only when you switch a nudge on.
• Private by design. Your answers and scores stay in the app's own storage. No account, no ads, no analytics SDK, no in-app purchases. The only network request is to fattonic.com for the Food Index export.

WHAT THE SCORE IS — AND ISN'T
The FatTonic Score rates foods for fat-burning on one transparent formula — glycemic load, sugar, processing, fiber and protein, each weighted and shown. It is an educational rating of a food: not a measurement of you, not a diet plan and not a promise about weight.

The same Food Index, Metabolic Score and method are on fattonic.com.
