XML is a metalanguage standardized by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). It is used for the structured description of information in documents and enables the separation of data and its representation. This extremely flexible and abstract language has developed into a data exchange format for a wide variety of applications, regardless of platform or manufacturer. XML files can be opened with any text editor and, due to their structure, can be read by humans and computers.
The course is aimed at ambitious XML beginners. Prior knowledge of HTML facilitates editing but is not required.
The course will give you a solid understanding of the XML language and its application areas and will qualify you to apply this knowledge in various XML contexts.
The written exam can be taken online or at a FernUniversität Hagen campus location of your choice. Upon passing the exam, you will receive a university certificate. Students can also have earned ECTS credits recognized for a Certificate of Basic Studies.
Further information is available on the FernUniversität Hagen website under CeW (Center for Electronic Continuing Education).
